A Gentle Start to the Week

January 27, 20261 min read

At Asha, we believe in creating moments of stillness and connection — space to pause, reflect, and set clear intentions for the days ahead.

What a wonderful way to begin the week, Bo and I have just started a new meditation tradition here at Asha: 45 minutes of grounding and intention-setting to begin each day, open to anyone who wishes to join.

This week, we’re delighted to be hosting a remarkable group called Thirty Percy. I love their name — it sounds playful, yet their mission is anything but lighthearted. Their work focuses on how philanthropy can be radically reimagined for both changemakers and wealth-holders — a vision that’s as ambitious as it is inspiring. They’re certainly a group to watch, and perhaps, if we ask nicely, they might write a guest blog for Asha to share more about their approach.

As I write, the sun is gently rising over the gardens, and the rain outside is the kind Terry Pratchett might have called “rain with slots in.” On my lap is Smokey, Asha’s 19-year-old cat, purring contentedly and making typing a rather delicate exercise. Anyone who’s lived with cats will understand my dilemma. Fortunately, everyone at Asha adores animals, so Smokey is always in good company.

We’re grateful for communities like Thirty Percy who remind us how vision and heart can transform the world — and for mornings like this one, where reflection and warmth set the tone for the week ahead.
